Registration Policies and Grading

All classes, with the exception of the Enrichment Program, may be taken for credit. Most classes may be taken for noncredit on a space-available basis. Exceptions include GIS, undergraduate level (3000 series) CIS, and specifically noted courses. If there is a waiting list of for-credit students, the noncredit student will be given the option of changing to credit status or withdrawing from the class.

Refund Policies

Students who wish to withdraw from a class must do so by contacting the Student Services Office and are encouraged to do so at least one week prior to the start of the quarter. The refund on the class is dependent on the time in which the student officially withdraws with the University College Student Services Office (303-871-2291, 800-347-2042 or uc-registration@du.edu).  Students should not assume they have been withdrawn from a course for missing the payment deadline, telling the instructor they are dropping, or for not attending.

Students who withdraw from all of their courses in the quarter must submit the University College student withdrawal form.

Please note: Policies and procedures may be different for the Non-Credit Enrichment Program.

Grades

Students may access grades via WebCentral under the MyWeb tab. For students using the employer reimbursement option, grade letters are available listing courses taken, final grades, and tuition costs. This grade letter will be available as soon the grades are validated by the Office of the Registrar (approximately ten days after the end of the term), at which point, the letter will be mailed. Please request this letter at the time of registration. Please note that privacy regulations do not permit the release of grades over the telephone.

Waitlist

If a class is full, students may either request to be placed on a waitlist by the Student Services Office or, if using Web registration, select "waitlist" on the action dropdown box on the web site. If a seat opens in the class, students will be called in the order of their position on the waitlist. After notification of an open position, students must register within 24 hours or lose their place on the waitlist.

Course Cancellation

Courses may be cancelled when enrollment is insufficient to provide appropriate instruction. If a course is cancelled, student will be notified in time to register for other courses. Advisors are available to assist students in selecting alternative courses.

First Class Assignment / Textbook Information

Most courses require completion of an assignment before the first night of class. Textbook and first class assignment information is available on the web. Please check in the Course Schedule to look up your class for textbook and first class assignments for all courses.
