Soomin graduated with a master of arts degree in 2004 from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her bachelor of arts degree in 1998 from the University of California. Her research interests include comparative politics, American politics, and East-Asian politics. She has taught and continues to teach American Government and Introduction to Political Science.
