Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts
The ability to communicate in many situations using a variety of techniques with a multitude of people is essential in today's world. Communication occurs every day both formally and informally in organizations, society, and in your personal life. You will learn and practice skills useful in the business world such as creating and delivering effective presentations, crafting a well-reasoned argument, and building and enhancing dialogue between people and groups including those of different cultures. In addition, you will enrich your understanding of verbal and non-verbal communication, such as writing, speaking, and body language; and you will learn how to use art, photographs, and other media in presentations. You will also have the opportunity to use your creative energies constructively, to solve problems, resolve conflict, and increase communication options. The messages delivered by the media, entertainment industry, and commercial institutions will be examined critically for the effects on individuals and society. In your integrative project you will synthesize your studies and demonstrate your communication skills.
