Undergraduate International Students

When you apply to the University of Denver, your educational background is carefully analyzed, based on your school records and the educational system of the country where you were educated. International students must also provide the following information:
- Original transcripts from each institution where two or more quarter hours were completed
If your transcript is in a language other than English, you must submit official English translations of the documents in addition to the original documents. Applicants with foreign credentials must also submit official proof of the degree earned (e.g., a copy of the diploma or certificate) with an English translation. - Documentation of English language proficiency
The University of Denver accepts either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)tests to prove English proficiency. Before they may enroll in University classes, students whose native language is not English either must present an acceptable test score or successfully complete Level Five (college preparation) at DU’s English Language Center ( ELC). In this case, no test score will be required.- TOEFL: Students must present a minimum score of 570 paper- based, 230 computer-based or 88 Internet-based TOEFL.
- IELTS: Students must present a minimum score of 6.5 for regular admission.
- Condtional Acceptance
Any student who successfully completes Level Five at the University of Denver’s English Language Center prior to enrolling in an undergraduate degree program will not be required to present a TOEFL/ IELTS score. Completion of an intensive English program other than the University of Denver’s English Language Center does not satisfy this requirement. - Letter of financial verification (if seeking F-1 visa)
Any student who wishes to obtain an F-1 visa must provide a letter of financial verification. The document must be an original bank letter and/or an offer of scholarship that confirms adequate funds to cover tuition and expenses for one year. Account statements are not adequate verification. Please contact the University College Admissions Office for specific dollar amounts. (Verification of financial resources is not necessary for an admission decision). - Supplemental information form:
All applicants who are not U.S. Citizens must submit the Supplemental Information Form. Please submit the form along with your admission materials.
