The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Denver – formerly VIVA! – is a membership program designed for seasoned men and women age 55 and “better” who wish to pursue lifelong learning in the company of like-minded peers.
OLLI is committed to bringing its members together in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere to discover new things about the world and themselves.
OLLI members are actively engaged; they select the topics to be explored, and share their expertise and interests while serving as teachers and learners. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and professions, and share the desire to stay intellectually active and fit.
Two OLLI Locations
Classes at OLLI Central are held at the Central Christian Church at 3690 Cherry Creek Drive South. Classes at OLLI West are held at the Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 West 32nd Avenue (near 32nd & I-70).

How to Join
OLLI meets for three terms during the year, each term lasts eight weeks.
The fall session begins in mid-September,
the winter term begins in mid-January, and
the spring term at the end of March.
Special events may take place during or between terms, or on occasion in the summer. Classes are held in a convenient community location with plentiful, close-in parking.
There are no academic or experience qualifications. Members may take part in as many activities as they desire.
Membership in either OLLI Central or OLLI West
OLLI members choose one chapter as “home.” Your registration application will indicate where you would like to establish your membership, which is where you will be taking classes. If you desire to take an additional class (space available) at another chapter you may do so at the additional cost of $35 per class.
Note: OLLI TOO classes will be available at “home” only.
Cost
- $100 Individual, per term.
- $240 Individual, per year (three terms) must be paid before fall term.
- $475 couple, per year (a couple is defined as two people living at the same address) and must be paid before the full term.
- Your membership fee is included in your tuition.
Membership allows
- Participation in as many classes as desired (space available)
- Reduced price participation in “The Summer Seminars of OLLI,” “Hot Topic Luncheons,” and the “International Symposium”
- Receipt of the OLLI newsletter three times per year
- Notice of non-advertised DU events (usually at no cost because of being affiliated with DU)
- Invitations to annual social events
Refund Policies
Per term - If requested no later than ten days into term.
Annual - No refund after ten days into fall term, except for serious illness.
Couple - Same as for annual. One person - $237.50
Deadlines
You may mail in your registration forms at any time. Registrations will not be processed until after July 30. Please note that some classes are limited in size.
Scholarships
We want OLLI memberships to be available to all who wish to participate. Limited, partial scholarships are available. Call our office for information. All requests are confidential.
