Welcome to OLLI at DU
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Denver – formerly VIVA! – is a membership program designed for men and women age 50 and “better” who wish to pursue lifelong learning in the company of like-minded peers.
OLLI is committed to bringing its members together in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere to discover new things about the world and themselves.
OLLI members are actively engaged; they select the topics to be explored, and share their expertise and interests while serving as teachers and learners. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and professions, and share the desire to stay intellectually active and fit.
OLLI Locations
Classes at OLLI Central are held at the Central Christian Church at 3690 Cherry Creek Drive South. Classes at OLLI West are held at the Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 West 32nd Avenue (near 32nd & I-70). OLLI South are held at Valley View Christian Church, 11004 Wildfield Lane (near South Santa Fe Drive & Titan Parkway).
OLLI meets for three terms during the year, each term lasts eight weeks.
The fall session begins in mid-September,
the winter term begins in mid-January, and
the spring term at the end of March.
Special events may take place during or between terms, or on occasion in the summer.
There are no academic or experience qualifications. Members may take part in as many activities as they desire. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for upcoming classes at any OLLI location, please email Robin at robin.russell@du.edu or call the OLLI office at 303-871-3090.

Membership in either OLLI Central, OLLI West or OLLI South
OLLI members choose one location as “home.” Your registration form will indicate where you would like to establish your membership. You may take classes at any location at no additional charge.
Membership Cost
- If you wish to take classes at more than one OLLI location (Central, West or South), please complete a Registration Form with the class name(s) for each site and send one check for the membership fee. Please mark your envelope MULTIPLE SITE REGISTRATION. The OLLI South site has a special $75 introductory per term membership fee. You must take at least one class at OLLI South to be eligible for that special fee. Olli Central and West membership fees are $100 per term.
Membership allows
- Entitles you to take classes at any or all of the OLLI locations.
- Participation in as many classes as desired (space available)
- Reduced price participation in “The Summer Seminars of OLLI,” “Hot Topic Luncheons,” and the “International Symposium”
- Receipt of the OLLI newsletter three times per year
- Notice of non-advertised DU events (usually at no cost because of being affiliated with DU)
- Invitations to annual social events
Refund Policies
Refunds may be granted if requested no later than ten days into current term.
Deadlines
You may mail in your registration form at any time. Processing of registrations for winter 2010 will begin November 19, 2009. Please note that some classes are limited in size.
Scholarships
We want OLLI memberships to be available to all who wish to participate. Limited, partial scholarships are available. Call our office for information. All requests are confidential.
