Information security has become a necessity for all types and sizes of organizations. A serious security breach cannot only destroy sales, financial, and customer data, but by doing so, throw a business organization into chaos and perhaps bankruptcy. Thus, organizations today are looking for information security managers and professionals who know how to protect information systems, applications, and networks from attack and failure.
This program integrates technology and business management coursework, enabling graduates to analyze security needs, provide effective solutions, and fill a critical niche in business organizations. Practical issues like setting up a secure network, securing servers, and handling incidents are presented by experience with certified faculty who work in the fields they teach. Furthermore, our labs give hands-on experience with industry-current security tools; better preparing you for real-world security challenges.
As a result, students learn to:
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures
• Design secure applications
• Implement access controls
• Establish secure operations
• Control physical security
• Use encryption
• Secure networks
• Plan for business continuity
• Investigate incidents and handle legal issues
