Leadership and Organizations Courses
Organizing for Successful Fundraising - 4 credits
When organizations are unsuccessful with their fund raising efforts, it is not because their cause isn't worthy of support, but because they simply are not well organized to raise funds. Students learn about the role of donors, the roles of staff, board, volunteers and preparing the case for support. Legal and ethical issues are examined and alternative organizational structures are discussed. The role of technology is explored. Case studies of differing organizational arrangements are presented and students are asked to design and recommend an organizational plan for a particular organization.
