Leadership and Organizations Courses
Achieving Organizational Excellence - 4 credits
In this course students explore what defines excellence in organizations, with a focus on non-profit and public organizations. Students explore and analyze organizations from the standpoint of clarity of message, value to supporters, perceptions of stakeholders and staff, organizational structure and transparency to supporters and funders. An evaluation of the organizational skills, systems, infrastructure and human and financial resources will complete the analysis. The organization that achieves excellence strengthens it fiscal position, reputation and the ability to seek and obtain additional funding. The first step in fundraising is to define and establish the excellence that donors are being asked to support.
