M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts (poetry emphasis), New York University; M.A. in Counseling, Colorado Christian University, LPC, RPT is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Poetry Therapist in private practice in Denver, Colorado. She serves as a board member for the National Association for Poetry Therapy Foundation, and is one of seven founding members of Urban Skye, a local non-profit that encourages and supports Denver residents interested in the arts, service projects, and spiritual exploration. Joy is a performance poet, as well as an award-winning writer and editor, and has published poetry, essays, articles, and reviews in publications such as New York Quarterly, Lilliput Review, Books & Culture, Bohemian Chronicle, Mars Hill Review, Gallatin Review, and Theology Today. She is the author of two books, as well as a collaborator on several others, and received the Herbert Rubin Award for Outstanding Creative Writing from NYU. (MALS)
