M.S.W., University of Utah, has been professionally involved with numerous non-profit organizations addressing social and health issues of Native Americans. He has been an assistant professor in the School of Social Work at the Universities of Utah, Iowa, and Denver. Compton was an invited participant to the First Annual Congress of American Indian Scholars at Princeton University. His publications include Social Work Education for American Indians and Mental Health Services and Social Work Education with Native Americans. His tribal affiliation is Lakota Sioux. (MALS)
