Susan Jenson, MA , Executive Director. Susan Jenson has been involved in the arts for over thirty years as an artist, gallery director, educator, and manager, including eleven years with DAVA (Downtown Aurora Visual Arts.) In her current role as Executive Director of DAVA, she has continued to design and develop funding for a new model of after school programming that involves hundreds of young people in free arts education annually, resulting in a series of state and national awards from 2006 through 2009. Susan has established new collaborations in urban Aurora, including new partnerships with the Community College of Aurora, Shadow Theater, Aurora Public Schools and other local cultural organizations. Susan’s background as an instructor of contemporary art forms and dedication to youth adds to a perspective on arts education that encourages young people to work toward a greater vision of community cultural development.
