Sam Chanthaphonh received her Master of Arts in East Asian Studies with a focus on socio-linguistics from the University of Arizona where her area of research was gender and language, and secondary language acquisition. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Marquette University.
Prior to coming to the University of Denver, Sam was an Academic Advisor for the University of New Mexico and an adjunct instructor for Santa Fe Community College where she taught writing. She has taught English in China and Japan. She has also worked extensively in development and fundraising, as well as in international marketing. Sam currently teaches Graduate Research and Writing for University College and is a full-time Program Counselor for the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
