awallac3@du.edu

MFA, Electronic Media and Photograph, University of Colorado at Boulder. Andrea is a photographer and video artist who has exhibited nationally and internationally with one-person shows in Edinburgh Scotland, California, Colorado, Michigan, Indiana and Oregon. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions and collections throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico. Her most recent video Rochell and Brian, a documentary about a teenage couple in the ranching community of Kremmling, Colorado premiered at the New York International Independent Film Festival in 2005 and screened at Rooftop Films, Brooklyn, NY in 2006.

Wallace's background as a photojournalist serves as a springboard for much of her work. Her research is community based and is informed by issues surrounding the relationship between individuals and the landscape, sense of place, memory and identity. Wallace's work deals with intersections: humans and their environment, women and men, success and failure and the American dream. Ultimately, she is interested in how we as human beings experience the environment, how we parallel it in our comings and goings, how we define it and are defined by it.
