The master’s degree specialty and graduate certificate in Technology Management can be earned entirely online or evenings on campus.
Those who understand the power of leveraging technology in business can create their own competitive advantage. Organizations of all types and sizes have growing needs for managers who can create, manage, and use technology to accomplish strategic goals.
University of Denver’s school of professional and continuing studies, University College, offers those with technical backgrounds the opportunity to gain the strategic managerial skills necessary to move into strategic management positions. The Technology Management program also offers non-technical professionals who want to transition into strategic management positions the opportunity to expand and strengthen their knowledge and skills in managing the development, implementation, and diffusion of technology in all related fields.
Unlike general management degrees, this program emphasizes business management and the impact of technology upon strategic and operational objectives. An engaging learning environment filled with professionals who value their educational experience ensures the development of effective critical and creative thinking, strategic and tactical decision making, and global awareness.
This program of study allows students to:
• Assume the role of manager in the contemporary, technology-driven business environment
• Formulate and implement strategies for creating and developing competitive advantage
• Identify and implement effective approaches to solving problems in a competitive business
• Leverage the resources of the corporation
• Develop and implement structures and processes for effective and efficient business operation
• Evaluate and Implement Technology for achieving strategic value
Program Requirements
Total 48 credit hours
Students are required to take MALS 4020 within their first three quarters at University College
Core - 8 qtr. hrs
Professional Foundation Courses - 12 qtr. hrs
Speciality Courses - 16 qtr. hrs
Further Study - 12 qtr. hrs
Admissions Requirements
Candidates for Master's degree programs are evaluated based on the following criteria:
Entrance examinations such as the GRE or GMAT are NOT required.
An earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required.
Applicants must have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in their undergraduate work. Applicants with lower GPAs may be accepted on a provisional basis.
The applicant's professional commitment and written language skills are evaluated through the essay, and the confidential recommendations, both submitted as part of the admissions packet.
