The master’s degree specialty and graduate certificate in Broadband Networks can be earned entirely online or evenings on campus.
Market demands have created a technological explosion in high-speed data communication which has affected every facet of our lives and will continue to do so. High-speed Internet, Gigabit Ethernet, and High Definition Television have been supported by advancements in fiber optic technology. Allowing such transport systems as SONET, ATM, and other switching systems to provide the needed bandwidth. Additionally, consumer demand for the convenience of broadband wireless delivery has created challenges of designing and implementing wireless devices and service platforms into coherent networks. New services have been created and are supported by new high-speed processors, software, and databases which are distributed throughout public networks. Users have the ability to design and control their own services and customize features without service provider involvement.
The Broadband Networks program prepares students for dealing with a wide variety of up-to-date broadband and wireless technologies and applications.
This program of study allows students to:
• Design and implement wireless wide area and LAN networks
