Students examine the influences and functions of various types of healthcare entities: providers, insurance companies, government agencies, and professional associations. By gaining an understanding of how different technologies, laws, leadership styles, and financial models affect the system, students learn to anticipate change and innovate to meet challenges. Healthcare reform efforts and proposals are evaluated including electronic health medical records, regulatory policies, and models of patient services. Major national and global public health challenges are introduced such as innovation, availability of treatment, and affordability of healthcare.

Online Learning
Our master’s degree and certificates in Healthcare Leadership can be earned entirely through online study. All courses are available in an online format through our interactive virtual classroom environment. Students can also take all courses in the evening on the University of Denver campus, or take a combination of online and on-campus classes.
