Global Affairs
In our globally integrated economy and society, an understanding of global structures and the pieces that make them up is imperative for professionals in the US to make intelligent human and business decisions. This program provides valuable background and insight into why other nations, cultures, and organizations react the way they do in business, political, and personal relations. The foundational courses cover global structures, organization, and governance, as well as skills in cultural assessment and communication. Students study cultural traditions and regional histories to show how current global affairs develop through and are influenced by cultural positioning. For working professionals, executives, and world citizens, this knowledge is critical to successfully navigate working across nations and cultures.
Students choose a specialty area in which to delve into further study of the global issues that present challenges both now and in the future, or of the history and perspectives that have brought the world to where it is today. Students with second language proficiency may choose to develop their skills with a specialty in translation. Students culminate their degree with the capstone project, effectively showcasing their overall course of study in the program and specialty.
